Cyber Socialization

So I’ve been off facebook for about a year, I reactivated my account only yesterday-purely out of boredom and boy was i not shocked?!All the little lads and lasses are either engaged to be married, married or have had kids!!It made me realise how out of touch I have become. And again it made me realise the girls and boys I used to footle with are now women and men…..someone just commented this shows they have all grown and are responsible now.But I must say I am not sure if being married is what makes a man or a woman responsible.Well I will leave that for another day.
What actually shocked me is not the marriages and the children, but the fact that I could freely access these pictures online even though some of these people are not even on my friends list!!You may call me old school, but I am actually not.I am all for social networking via the the internet and all the other good stuff that comes with IT but plastering your wedding and your newly born baby’s photos on the world wide web is not exactly a responsible thing to do. Honestly I’m actaully struggling to give a good reason why this  behaviour isn’t responsible. It just does not look and sound right. What happened to keeping the wedding or the children’s album a private family asset?
Sad to say people are actually living their lives through facebook now. From moment they wake to the minute they lay their heads down they announce to the whole world whatever they have been up to with full photographic records to go with it.I am pretty sure i do not want to know if you just got out of bed and you’re about to brush your teeth or go shave your hairy legs.If I wanted to know all of that I would be following you on twitter! So for all the sad people who like to live on facebook go get a life.Whatever happened to the old way of socializing-going out and meeting and having face to face chat with friends and family.Guess computers are taking away the human touch that make up our way of life as human beings,we are loosing it!This reminds me of Wall E- the movie……
